Cookies Policy

Effective date: April 20, 2023

This Cookies Policy (“Policy”) explains how Cyango ("Cyango", "we", "us" and "our") uses cookies and similar technologies (like web beacons) when you visit any of our websites that link to this Cookies Policy (such as www.cyango.com) ("Websites").

It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them.

In some cases, we may use cookies and similar technologies to collect Personal Information or information that becomes Personal Information if we combine it with other information. In such cases, the Cyango Global Privacy Policy will also apply, as will the EU & Swiss Privacy Policy, if applicable.

Capitalized terms that are not defined in this Policy have the meaning given in our Cyango Global Privacy Policy or our Terms of Service.

If you do not accept the use of these cookies or similar technologies, you can disable them by following the instructions in this policy below or by changing your browser settings so that cookies or similar technologies from our Website or app cannot be placed on your computer or mobile device.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small software file stored temporarily or placed on your computer’s hard drive. The main purpose of a cookie is to allow a web server to identify a user’s computer and web browser and tailor web pages and/or login information to a user’s preferences. Cookies help us promptly display the information needed to use the capabilities of the Service and other information which we consider to be of interest to visitors to the Sites and users of the Service. By gathering and remembering information about website preferences through cookies, we can provide a better web and marketing experience. Cookies do not give us access to your computer.

Third-party cookies

Cookies set by us are called "first-party cookies," while cookies set by others are called "third-party cookies." A third-party cookie can recognize your device both when it visits our Services and when it visits certain other websites or mobile apps. Cyango does not control how third-party cookies are used, so you should check the website of a third-party cookie provider for more information about how they are used.

Both first-party and third-party cookies can serve many functions, including analytics, marketing, and advertising. For more information about how you can control advertising or analytics cookies, please see the relevant section below.

We do not track or respond to browser “Do Not Track” requests.

Cookies and Your Personal Information

Some cookies are associated with your account and Personal Information, while others are not. We generally treat information collected by cookies and other technologies as non-personal information. However, to the extent that IP addresses or similar identifiers are considered Personal Information by local law, we also treat these identifiers as Personal Information. If we combine non-Personal Information with Personal Information, then the combined information will be treated as Personal Information for as long as it remains combined.

Why Cyango uses cookies and similar tracking technologies

Cyango uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to enable functionality on its Services and to assist with marketing its products and services to interested individuals. Cookies help us improve by telling us our Services are being used, letting you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and overall ensuring you enjoy your browsing experience on our Services.

We also use technologies which are similar to cookies, such as web beacons/pixels, log files and mobile device identifiers.

a. Web beacons/Pixels/Gifs.

Web beacons (also called “tracking pixels” or “clear gifs”) are invisible picture files/small portions of code that contain a unique identifier that enable us to recognize users when providing the Services. Web beacons collect information such as a record of the page on which they are placed and a timestamp. We use web beacons to track the online usage patterns of our users and in HTML-based emails sent to our users to track which emails are opened and which links are clicked by recipients, which helps us measure the success of our marketing campaigns. We also use web beacons placed by third-party advertisers to track whether you have clicked on the adverts they have placed and to measure success. While you may not have the ability to specifically reject or disable these tracking technologies, in many instances, these technologies are reliant on cookies to function properly; accordingly, in those instances, declining cookies will impair the functionality of these technologies.

b. Local shared objects.

Local shared objects (also called “flash cookies”) are pieces of data that are stored on a device to enable Adobe's Flash functionality. We may use Adobe Flash to display graphics, interactive animations and other enhanced functionality. Local shared objects can track similar parameters to cookies but they can also provide information on your use of the specific feature that the cookie is enabling. For example, if it facilitates the display of a video then we can receive details of how much of the video was watched and when viewing stopped. Flash cookie management tools can be accessed directly via www.adobe.com.

c. Software development kits.

Software development kits (SDK) are third-party software development kits that may be installed in our mobile applications. SDKs collect certain information about the device and network you use to access the application and help us understand how you interact with our applications.

d. Device identifiers.

The Service may use one or more device identifiers to recognize your device, including the Android Advertising ID and iOS Advertising Identifier, which we use for advertising purposes. You can reset your device identifier or opt out of targeted advertising through your device settings.

e. Fingerprinting.

Fingerprinting involves combining a set of features or characteristics from a device or browser (e.g. information from HTTP headers, browser language, time zone, JavaScript objects, installed fonts, and installed plugins) in order to uniquely identify you. We may use fingerprinting for security or user safety purposes.
